શહેરની સફરે - જનરલ નોલેજની નજરે-2

ગુલાબી નગરી-જયપુર  જયપુર નગરની સ્થાપના ઇ.સ 1728માં આંબેરના મહારાજા જયસિંહ બીજાએ કરી હતી.આ શહેર ઐતિહાસિક અને સંસ્કૃતિની દ્રષ્ટીએ આગવું સ્થાન ધરાવે છે.આ શહેર ત્રણેય બાજુથી અરવલ્લી પર્વતથી ઘેરાયેલું છે.જયપુરને આયોજીત શહેર બનાવવાનુ કામ વિધાધર ભટ્ટાચાર્યએ કર્યુ હતું.જયપુર શહેરની ઓળખ ત્યાંના મહેલો અને ઘરોના ગુલાબી પત્થરોની બનેલી દિવાલોથી થાય છે.એટલે જ આ શહેરનું બીજું નામ "ગુલાબી નગરી" છે.આ નામ પાછળનું બીજુ કારણ ઇ.સ 1876માં તે વખતના શાસક મહારાજા...
